Hour of Code - March 11, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Beginning in March, your child will be participating in lessons provided by the library media specialists in each of the elementary schools. The teachers will be using code.org to provide the lessons and hands on applications for the students.  If you would like to experience what your children will be experiencing, please go to www.code.org to find out more. If you do not wish your children to learn about computer science, let his or her teacher know.

What is the Hour of Code?

The Hour of Code started as a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code", to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. It has since become a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science, starting with 1-hour coding activities but expanding to all sorts of community efforts! Over the past years since its inception in 2014, the Hour of Code has reached tens of millions of students in 180+ countries.
 Thank you,
Audrey Flojo and Karen Snedeker
